Junior Queties Program

Objective: To provide middle school students with foundational skills, mentorship, and resources to prepare them for success in high school and beyond.

Grade 6

  • Orientation and Goal Setting:
    • Introduction to the program and its objectives.
    • Goal-setting session to help students identify their academic and personal goals for middle school.
    • Mentor-matching
  • Academic Support:
    • Weekly tutoring sessions in core subjects (math, English, science) to reinforce foundational skills.
    • Introduction to study skills and organizational strategies.
    • Weekly/bi-weekly mentor meetings
  • Personal Development:
    • Workshops on character building, self-esteem, and teamwork to foster positive attitudes and behaviors.
    • Introduction to extracurricular activities and clubs.
    • Introduction of Junior Queties project work w/assigned mentor
  • Enrichment Activities:
    • Field trips to museums, science centers, and other educational venues to enhance learning experiences.
    • Hands-on STEM activities to cultivate curiosity and critical thinking skills.

Grade 7

  • Academic Support:
    • Continued weekly tutoring sessions tailored to students' evolving needs.
    • Advanced study skills workshops to improve time management and note-taking skills.
    • Weekly/bi-weekly mentor meetings
  • Personal Development:
    • Workshops on leadership development, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
    • Opportunities to participate in group projects and team-building activities.
  • Career Exploration:
    • Introduction to different career paths and industries through guest speakers and informational sessions.
    • Career interest inventories to help students explore potential future careers.

Grade 8
